About me
MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY, EMDR, & COACHING
Sofia Collins, LMFT (she/her)
In becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist, I received my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from University of California, Santa Cruz and later got my Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology from San Francisco State University. With all my years of school, and ongoing trainings, and certifications, I am adamant that I will never be a “one trick pony” therapist or Life Coach, nor spend my sessions silently nodding along as my clients do all the talking. Because of this, I approach every case with individualized care, utilizing whatever combination of therapeutic tools will best help my client, am actively engaged during session, am available between sessions for check ins via text/email, and am happy to get creative in our work together.
Having grown up in the East Bay, and lived in the general San Francisco Bay Area ever since, I am honored to be able to continue giving back to my beloved community, as well as the greater state of California thanks to virtual therapy options, and world-wide for my virtual Life Coaching services. I identify as a bisexual cis-woman, and am passionate about creating safe and inclusive spaces for everyone I work with. When not at work, I love trying out new recipes in my kitchen, taking care of my (small jungle) of house plants, going hiking with friends, cuddling with my cat (named Fig), and helping make community art projects.
My clients describe me as approachable, warm, funny, authentic, devoted, and insightful.
